In 2015 we will undoubtedly see British politics move away from the two party system that has dominated for so long. Over the last year it’s been the UK’s turn to see the rise of its own far right party UKIP. We now match our European and US contemporaries with a faux rebel party, that has managed to dupe certain people into thinking they have the common man’s interest at heart. We spend our time trying to decode what each of the parties want and it seems the only way in breaking up the confusing system we have at the moment is to give rise to new parties. The Greens on the left and UKIP on the far right.
Our ruling party the Conservatives tell us the economy is improving but wages are going down. The gap between the rich and poor is getting wider. But our news hasn’t told us why. Confusing isn’t it. Have you ever considered that this might how certain Politicians want you to feel? Here is an important and considered film by Adam Curtis that was aired as part of Charlie Brooker’s Wipe 2014. Something for us all to consider in the lead up to the next election.
